Brickell Favorites: Anastasia Wachter
What are your favorite restaurants in Brickell?
For a weekend brunch- it’s probably not original but my favorite will have to be Zuma. It is the best in all of Miami.
For a client meeting - Cipriani is perfect. It’s very classy, sophisticated and never noisy so business can actually be discussed.
For a lunch or dinner spot- normally I don’t have much time. The place needs to be fast, so I can be in and out. Cantina La Veinte Cafeteria is great for that. Not only is it very cozy and beautiful, but the Mexican food is excellent too and the music that is played on big screens makes it fun. There is also a smaller area downstairs that is very cozy and perfect for large groups, so you can have the whole area for a private party.
For outdoor dining- La Mar, the Peruvian at the Mandarin Oriental is my favorite. If you sit outside the views are breathtaking and the whole fish is one of the best I’ve ever tried.
For an espresso- Atelier Monnier is great for a coffee and french deserts.
Favorite running trail or bike path in Brickell?
Brickell Key Jogging Trail has scenic views. Manatee and stingrays are part of the experience.
My favorite view will have to be from Area 31 outside bar at Epic Hotel. To me it’s one of the top three views in Miami.
Favorite store at the moment will have to be the brand new Wholefoods store.
Favorite hidden gem in Brickell?
Momi Romen is my favorite "hidden gem”. Thanks to Chris Suarez for letting me know about it. It is a real authentic Japanese restaurant that has only a few dishes on the menu, mostly roman noodle soup. It is cash only and the owner and his wife will be serving and cooking for you themselves.
Favorite salon or spa?
Since we moved to our beautiful Sales Gallery I have discovered the Spa & Nail Fever salon, which is very close to us. All the beauticians are vietnamese and surprisingly half of them are male. One of them does the best shellac manicure without damaging the nails. I won’t be going anywhere else for a while now.
