Spring is here -- finally. And though Miami is a sun-soaked haven of music, pool-dwelling, and revelry year-round, there are some major musical events on the calendar in the coming months that should not be missed. And, of course, the city is home to some distinctive spots for lounging, relaxing, and outings with your friends. Residents of Brickell Flatiron’s Miami luxury condominiums will find themselves surrounded by nearly-unlimited places to take full advantage of their city’s music scene.
Miami Music Week
Running from March 25 through 31, Miami Music Week is one of the most widely known electronic music festivals on the planet. For eight years running, this seven-day festival has attracted premiere talent from across the globe. Last year, over 1,200 artists performed at more than 85 venues across the city. The week is capped by the Ultra Music Festival, an enormous, outdoor electronic music gathering.
Ultra Music Festival
Since 1999, the Ultra Music Festival has been a major draw — last year, 165,000 fans turned out for this electronic music extravaganza. This year’s festival, which runs from March 29 through 31, includes Sasha and John Digweed, Tiësto, David Guetta, Marshmellow, Skrillex, and a host of other DJs, producers, and visual artists. The festival is a vibrant, and often ecstatic, party that pulses with energy.
Miami Downtown Jazz Festival
This annual week-long jazz fest runs from April 9 through 13. Put on by renowned jazz station WDNA Radio, the festival attracts some big names in the genre. Acclaimed performers, including Benny Golson, Magela Herrera, The Smoogies, Allan Harris, and the Beatriz Guzman Ensemble, join a series of additional artists at venues throughout Downtown Miami. The lineup is eclectic and vibrant — and the shows will be, too.
The Pool at the Atton Brickell
Only a few blocks from Brickell Flatiron itself sits one of the best pool bars in the city. The Atton Brickell Miami hotel features a beautiful rooftop infinity-edge pool that offers guests spectacular views of the glimmering city below. The pool is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and the accompanying Vista Pool Bar is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. There are private cabanas, if you feel so inclined, but just lounging by the pool with a margarita here is a deeply pleasurable and relaxing experience on its own. And perhaps the best part about Atton’s rooftop pool bar is that it is still something of an undiscovered gem. It attracts a crowd, but it’s rarely overwhelming.
Brickell may be Miami’s hottest neighborhood right now, and its music scene has never been more vibrant. Be sure to check out all of the other incredible offerings found in Brickell, too!
