Blog: Neighborhood Parks

The weekend is a time for relaxation, exploration, and, perhaps most important of all, getting out into the fresh air. One of the many perks of living in the Brickell Flatiron condos in Miami is the year-round glorious weather. Another is the proximity to a number of stellar green spaces. Here are a few of our favorite local parks.

Maurice A. Ferré Park

Though situated right in downtown Miami — in the midst of the American Airlines Arena, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science — Maurice A. Ferré Park (previously, and appropriately, known as Museum Park) spans a picturesque 30 acres. The museums can be accessed directly from the waterfront baywalk in the park. This oceanside park may be the best in the area for a relaxing stroll. The landscaping is beautiful, and you’ll feel a bit of separation from the pulse of the city, even though it’s only steps away.

Jose Marti Park

Jose Marti Park, at 1.7 acres, is not nearly as large as our first selection, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in the realms of charm and recreation. There are large fields where one can relax by the waters of the Miami River and take in the scenery, but Jose Marti is more about activities. There are indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an indoor gym, a massive playground, and an 80-foot pool with dedicated lanes for lap swimming. Moreover, there are a variety of fitness classes held on the grounds, including free yoga on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. If you’re looking to get a great workout, locally, without being packed into a gym, this is your place.

Simpson Park

Simpson Park is a stunning natural preserve and refuge with over 162 plant species scattered throughout its eight-acre expanse. This includes 15 endangered species and nine threatened species. This is not just a green space; all the colors of the rainbow are fully represented here. And if you’d like a bit of exercise to go with all the awe-inspiring flora, the various walking trails are great for all ages and skill levels. Simpson Park is truly an escape from the rush and bustle of the city. It’s a wonderful place to shed some stress and learn a bit about the natural world.

After a day at the park, you’ll be happy to come home to Brickell Flatiron. Book your private viewing today to discover all that these luxury Brickell condos have to offer.
